If activated there will be 'persistent' notifications for running tasks. These notification show you the current runtime of your tasks. Also these notifications will not disappear when closing the Timetracker and will be updated every 5-10 minutes. You can stop your tasks easily by clicking on the notifications stop button via the Android's notification menu without interrupting your current workflow.

Alternative Choose a task runtime threshold and a notification interval after which you want to get notified. If the task's runtime exceeds the runtime threshold the Timetracker will notify you that the task is still running. As long as the task is running you get further noticed periodically within the configured interval time. This can help you to keep track of your task's runtimes.
